Express Pass 4, 5, 7 and 8: What Each Covers

The number is how many attractions you get, not how good the pass is. Each number comes in several versions with different rides and prices.

The number is a count, not a rating

Express Pass 7 is not a better version of Express Pass 4 in the way that a gold tier beats a silver tier. The number simply states how many attractions the pass covers. What it does not tell you is which attractions, and that varies enormously. On 23 August 2026 the official English store listed twelve distinct products all called Express Pass 4, each with a different set of four rides and prices from ¥10,800 to ¥16,800. Two people can both hold an Express Pass 4 and have almost no overlap in what they are entitled to ride. The name is close to meaningless on its own.

Read the ride list, every time

Because the names repeat, the ride list is the only thing that matters. One Express Pass 4 covers Mario Kart, Forbidden Journey, Minion Mayhem and a choice of JAWS or Jurassic Park. Another covers Hollywood Dream Backdrop, Hollywood Dream, Flying Dinosaur and a third thrill ride. A third is built entirely around 4-D theatre shows. Several also offer either-one choices, where you pick between two rides rather than getting both — which quietly reduces a four-ride pass to four experiences chosen from five options. Before buying, read the bullet list on the product and check that the rides you actually care about appear on it.

Not every pass includes the Nintendo area

This is the costliest trap in the range. Passes that include guaranteed Super Nintendo World entry are labelled “Includes Timed Entry Tickets” in the store. Many are, but several are not — including Express Pass 4 4-D & Space Fantasy, Backdrop & The Flying Dinosaur, Thrill Max, Classic & Show, and all three Halloween packages. Price gives you no clue: an Express Pass 4 at ¥10,800 can include the area guarantee while one at ¥13,800 does not. If Super Nintendo World is a priority, treat the “Includes Timed Entry Tickets” label as the thing you are buying and the queue-skipping as the bonus.

Height limits differ between passes

Each pass states a minimum height requirement, and it is not consistent across the range. Some variants specify 122 cm or taller, others 132 cm or taller, depending on which rides they bundle. For families this is the detail that turns a good purchase into a wasted one — a pass built around thrill rides may include two or three attractions a shorter child cannot board, and there are no partial refunds. Check your children against the specific pass, not against the park generally. Universal publishes ride and height requirements for every attraction, and it is worth reading those before choosing a variant rather than after.

Premium tiers and what they really cost

Above the numbered passes sit the Premium variants, which cover all attractions rather than a fixed list. Three were listed on 23 August 2026: Premium P29 from ¥41,000, Premium P30 from ¥44,000, and Premium Unlimited from ¥99,000. These from figures are floors that rarely apply. Checking real dates for Premium P29, the only August date available was priced at ¥66,000, and September dates ran ¥45,000 to ¥54,000. If you are considering this tier, price your actual date before budgeting, because the gap between the advertised figure and the payable figure can exceed ¥20,000 per person.
